Serving America's Heartland Since 1975

M&M Equipment is a manufacturer's representative / master distributor and redistribution warehouse for the oil and gas industry serving Kansas, Oklahoma, the Texas Panhandle, and Southern Nebraska. Our main office and warehouse is located in Great Bend, Kansas with additional locations in Perryton, TX and Oklahoma City, OK.

Founded by Michael Johnson Sr., he moved his family from the oilfields of West Texas to the plains of Central Kansas in 1975. Michael was a sales rep in Odessa, Texas for the old Electric Service & Supply. One of his longtime customers, Mr. Ned Woolley, owner of Woolley Tool & Manufacturing, took a special liking to Michael and offered him the opportunity to become the Woolley rep in Kansas. It was Michael's dream to own his own business, So, even though he had never been to Kansas and knew no one in the state, Michael accepted Mr. Woolley's offer and the rest is history.

The Early Years

The early years were pretty tough, to say the least, and M&M's first warehouse was in the back of a local hay barn. Michael was on the road during the day and up late at night pulling orders. His wife, Peggy, also helped by meeting customers that needed to pick up parts and helping out with the paperwork. His young son, Mike Jr. would ride his bike to the warehouse after school and on weekends to put up stock, organize the warehouse, or anything else he could do to help.

AboutUs04.jpeg

Over the next 38 years, through the ups and downs of the oil patch, Michael built his business on the solid principles of honesty, integrity and customer service. He was genuinely liked and respected by everyone he knew and when his customers called they knew they could depend on him. In 1982, Michael's son, Mike Jr. began working full time at M&M. He worked alongside his mother and father until 2013 when they both retired. Today, as M&M moves into its fifth decade of operation, Mike Jr. proudly maintains the same principles and traditions that the company was founded on by his father back in 1975.
